Welcome to Sidewalk Blooms
My name is Laci, and I'm thrilled to share my passion for sustainable gardening, flowers, and homemade goodness with you. As a third-generation gardener, I've had the privilege of learning from the best – my late grandmother and mother. Their guidance and love for the earth have shaped me into the gardener I am today.
When I'm not tending to my garden, you can find me surrounded by loved ones. My husband Chris and I have been together for 15 incredible years, married for 10. We're proud parents to our 13-year-old son Ethan, and I'm also blessed to be a stepmom to Chris' son Conner, his wife Lily, and their adorable daughter Val. We were excited to learn we will be grandparents again in July 2025 at Christmas this year! We love to go to dirt tracks to watch racing, fishing and spending time with our loved ones.
I am the third generation to live on the property. My grandparents bought the property back in the 1960's, where my grandpa raised bees, farmed and operated a small engine business. That building still stands and is used! One of my first memories is walking down my grandma's sidewalk, which she had lined with peonies. I would run my hands through their foliage and stick my face in their blooms to just smell their heavenly aroma. This is why I choose my business name to be Sidewalk Blooms. Some of those exact peonies are still on the property and are used in my bouquets. As a tot my grandma would babysit me, so I spent many days by her side in her gardens. This was carried on by my mom when my grandma was no longer with us. Thanks to both of them, I've learned so much over the years but always have more to learn.
Two years ago, we bought the house that I grew up in while my parents bought the property next door. Our main big 60x60 fenced in garden bed is at the back of their property. The first year was me and my mama that took care of the main bed which was only 40x40 at the time. We expanded that one last fall. Along with two other smaller beds on my part of the property.
In January 2024 my precious mother was diagnosed with Stage One Breast Cancer. It was caught early, and she only needed radiation. After treatment, in May 2024 she fell seriously ill. After a long two-month battle, we said our goodbyes and let her go with God in July 2024. My daddy joined her in heaven in April 2025. I miss them every day and think about them often. I made a promise to myself that I would make them proud of me.
Our Farm's Promise
We're dedicated to practicing no-pesticide farming, ensuring our produce and flowers are not only delicious and beautiful but also healthy for you and our environment. Our garden is a haven for beneficial insects, pollinators, and wildlife.
I have grown up by my grandma and mother side since I could walk in the gardens. Whether it be tending the plants or canning they have instilled so much in me that I am forever grateful for. I love helping and teaching others about our practices and look forward to meeting each and every one of you!
If you have any questions at all, please reach out to me if I can't do it, I may know someone who can help you!
